Spring is Early!

We are amazed that March has brought such beautiful weather. We started out this wonderful weekend getting out terrace ready for a little garden. We got two square foot gardens from our friends who are moving. They are going to be amazing. Hopefully, we can start getting some things planted in early March.

The boys were able to get some outside time while we were picking up the gardens. It was so great to see them running and playing in the sun.

Baby Boy #3!

When we just barely knew I was pregnant the boys and I made a chain with one link for each week we had left. Alex wrote the weeks on each one and they take turns removing them each Monday. It is amazing how fast those links keep disappearing.

Today we all got to go see the baby. Jonathan slept through the whole thing, which actually made things a lot easier. Otherwise, after 5 min he would have been running crazy.

Here was the money shot. The whole appointment I had been waiting and waiting to here them say it was a boy, hoping that maybe they would say girl instead. But alas, everyone was right. This baby will be my parents 9th grandson, and the 13th boy born since me. I don't mind being the princess a little longer.

The boys are very excited for their new brother. Now if we could just find a name that we all like. Alex is on a Star Wars kick so he wants Luke, but Adam is not up for that one. It ought to be interesting to see how old the baby is when we can all agree.

February

To catch us up I am just going to post all of February in one blog. So here we go:

Jonathan has been having some issues with naps. He just refuses to go down at the appropriate time but then by evening he is all tuckered out. In this picture he just couldn't hold on anymore.

We have had to spend a lot of time indoors because of the frigid weather. We get lots of dress up time.

In his free time, Jonathan has discovered just how fast he can get into trouble. Here he has dumped all of my makeup on the ground, covering his hands and face to look pretty. He smelled like makeup for two days.

Alex started a writing book in February. He gets to do about a page a day and has really improved. He just loves the school work and often begs for more.

That was about it for February. I think we were resting up for a very exciting March.

Happy Birthday Adam!

Adams birthday was last Friday. We were so happy that he didn't work that day. There was so much fun to be had. Of course, the only pic I got was of the interesting looking cupcakes the boys and I made.

Adams colleague at the University, Jill, was so kind to come over and take care of the boys so that we could have a real date. We went to Adams favorite, Nana Sushi all you can eat.

Christmas!

Here are our beautiful boys in front of our tree. They had so much fun setting it up this year.

We went to my parents house in North Carolina for Christmas. There were 26 or more people there, most of whom stayed at the house. It was crazy fun.

There was a big storm that dropped 2 feet of snow right before we got there. This is very unusual for NC and we got to have lots of fun in the snow.

Lots of people just to watch a cartoon.

My oldest sister and brother and their families stayed at a hotel with a pool. We only went once but the boys loved it. There was a tunnel that goes to an outdoor pool. While it was very cold out there they all loved taking turns out there.

Jonathan was a little sick during the visit but he still got to help with the cookies.

Christmas Morning






We went to Fun Depot with the boys. They had so much fun. There were video games, putt putt, bowling, and a climbing maze.

As always they made it out to my parents hot tub. Uncle Roman drew the short straw, but I think he had fun anyway.

We had a great visit with my family and can't wait for 2011 when we do it all again. Next year in California will be nice a laid back, which will be very nice.

Thanksgiving visit with Kevin and Kayla

Our great friends Kevin and Kayla Simon came to our house for Thanksgiving. It was the first time we ever had guests for the big day and it was a blast. Unfortunately, the visit turned blah when I got the first dose of "morning" sickness and spent 2 days in the bathroom. By Monday my doc had given me some lovely medicine and I have been able to function most days since.

Fun In November

Here the boys are at the Discovery Museum. We spent over 30 minutes making huge bubbles. It was a blast.

We were bored one day and got our tent out. We didn't realize that it would take up the whole room. But the boys slept in it for two nights and just loved it.

Thats right...it freaked us out so much we took two tests.
