Visit with Friends

Our friend Lizzy came for a quick visit from California this weekend. We met her in Boston and took the boys to the children's museum. It happened to be a vacation day for all the students in the area and the place was packed. But both boys had a blast. We got our favortie pizza (besides the real stuff you can only get while sitting next to the colleseum in Rome).

We took the train home and Lizzy gave me a nice break from holding a wiggly kid.
Here is Adam and Alex making lovely faces.

We have some really great friends that come over all the time. Here are some good pics of the boys cuddling with Ashley. The really great thing about this picture is that Alex and Ashley did not get along for a very long time. But her mom and I are very stubborn and since we liked hanging out together figured the kids would just grow to like it. And they did.

New Sheets and Zoo

We finally put sheets into Jonathan's bed. He just loves his pillow and actually stays in one place all night now. Considering how bad of shape the crib is in he will be needing a big bed soon. The railings are breaking and the bottom board is broken again. Alex broke one side of it and Grandpa fixed it, now the other side is broken too. I think this will not be an heirloom crib.

Adam had a day off on Monday so we went down to the Franklin park zoo. They had a really great silo that had a built in slide. We spent a good deal of time there but left when one bigger kid just about killed Jonathan, knocking him off the ladder.

Jonathan loved the tractor they had out.
But our favorite part was the big lionlaying right out for us to see.

Alex the Wrestler!

Alex is learning very quickly how to do a good pose. Here Adam got a few on camera.

Jonathan is the lucky participant in many a wrestling match. He has even learned all about the "Rock Bottom".

Easter and Spring!

It is a new season and as always there are matching PJ's to be had at Costco.

We picked up the boys some tee ball equipment. The boys just love it. Alex is just amazing and he no longer wants to use the tee. He would rather you actually throw the ball. He actually hits it better then I can.

A quick update on Jonathans amazing ability to potty train himself. Here he is with some of his Scottish tighties. We are sure proud of him. He has been potty trained since 22 months old and we still can't believe it. He even makes it through the night. Which is great since Alex doesn't always make it.

Here are some of the few Easter pics we have. This was a great hunt at a friends church. They set it up so wonderfully. Each child brought 12 eggs filled, they were hidden and during the hunt each child only got to take 12 eggs. It really kept things fun for everyone.

Of course, our eggs were promptly broken open and devoured.

This next hunt we went too was blah. Basically, the kids stood in line for 30 minutes, went to three stations where they picked 2 eggs at each and then we left. Totaly blah.

No hunting, just grab out of a bucket.

A big week for Jonathan!

This week was huge in the life of little Jon Jon. On Monday we had a pretty icky rainy day so we were playing around all day inside. As usual, both boys ended up doing naked dancing. When Jonathan started to wet the carpet I scooped him up and stuck him on the potty. So that was that for him. He is potty trained. He won't wear a diaper and has had one accident that he stopped and finished in the potty. Amazing. He is only 21 months only. Just think of the money saved on diapers.

Also, we finally weaned him off the bottle. I know, I know. I really used it as a crutch. But he would take naps and go to bed so easily. It took a few sad moments but he got it figured out and now is back to normal non-sleep habits.

He sure is an amazing little boy.

Land of Grandma and Grandpa

Here are some pics from the boys time with my parents in North Carolina. They both ended up very sick and thus caused my parents and all their helpers(my brothers) to get sick. Jonathan ended up with tonsillitis and an ear infection but he still loved me when I picked him up.

I have a feeling they got their fill of sick time TV.

Thanks again to Grandma and Grandpa and all the uncles who made our boys so happy while we abandoned them.
