Here are just a few of the shots from our visit to see all the city trucks. The boys just loved all the scoops.

Happy Birthday Jonathan!

We had a really great family party for Jonathan's second birthday. He picked brownies as his cake. Which everyone was very happy about. Seeing as none of us our big cake fans. Although the boys are big frosting fans.
He meticulously opened every card he was given. When Alex was getting a bit pushy to open one, he just picked one up and said "here you go, open this". He was very good about sharing.

You can't get much happier then this on your birthday.
This was the first time I got to use our "You are Special Today" plate. Growing up my mom had one of these and it was so much fun when someone got to use it. It is probably the only plate that my mom kept for a long time and it didn't get broken. I think she still has it.
Alex was a great help on his brother's birthday. Even helping to open all the presents. There was just a bit of jealousy but Alex was very proud of his little brother.

Field trip to the firestation!

Today we were so lucky to get a tour of the fire department. We went along with all the preschool aged kids in our playgroup. The firefighters were actually out on a call when we got there so the boys played in the lobby for awhile. They were so excited that I was able to get a few really cute pics of them hugging.
When the trucks got back we got to watch them back into the garage. The beeping was very loud and Alex wasn't too fond of it. Although, he couldn't take his eyes off it.
All the kids got to climb into one of the trucks and take a look around.

As a really special treat they got to play with one of the hoses. There is video for this too.

And of course, Alex had to have another turn.

Alex's School Performance

Here are two videos of Alex's class singing. He did so great. I actually didn't think he would even go up considering how shy he is in such large crowds. But he reallly got into it. This video is from our little camera. I did use the real video camera too so hopefully soon I will get the better quality shots up. I didn't catch when he recieved his certificate with the little camera since Jonathan was getting a little crazy.

I can't believe he is already finished with school this year. He will be going to the Montessori school again next year. Adam and I had to have a special meeting to get him into the older learners class. He was getting bored this year and we figured that even though he will be young he should be in with the older group. He gets along with older kids much better and considering he can already read, reviewing the ABC's for another year would be a drag.

Other Activities with Uncle Don

So, Uncle Don has brought some mystery plague to our house. luckily, he is the only one sick so far. But I do not doubt that the boys and I will feel its blessings shortly after he leaves me alone. Adam doesn't come home for 2 more weeks so it ought to be interesting.

We went swimming a couple of times with Donny. The boys really loved it. He would flip them up in the air and let them land all by themselves. He got Alex to jump off the side all by himself.

Today we went to the park and played some ball. Here is a great video of Alex hitting one out of the park.

When we were out riding bikes we found a couple of really cool caterpillars. We had success with the last one we caught so we thought it would be fun to try again. Of course we have no idea what they will turn out to look like. I can't find them on the internet. They are black and great with big spikes, and oranges spots and orange legs. If anyone knows what they are I would love to know so we can show the boys.

To Daddy: We miss you and hope that you are back at the hotel in time for us to call you tonight.

Boston Museum of Science

For Uncle Don's second day here we went to the Boston Museum of Science. This was the first time for the boys and I. We all had a great time. I think they liked the dinosaurs the most.

Alex crawled into the footprint.

Jonathan did some calculations on the computers they had out for the kiddies.

"Look dad! I am studying Topology."

Yum, DNA

I think the boys really love hanging out with their Uncle.

Uncle Donny Arrives and B-day Bash!

While Daddy left for Europe on June 1st, Uncle Don came for a visit on the 2nd. Yay! Luckily, we had a great birthday party to attend in the afternoon. Jonathan slept in the car for about an hour of it, the same hour that Alex was glued to my leg and wouldn't do anything. But things did eventually get moving.

Jonathan his first pony ride. Don helped keep him from freaking out.

Alex got his face painted. It lasted all of about 5 seconds.

Alex also got his first pony ride. The first ride he took and at the end said he hated it. Then somehow he ended up back on the pony at least 5 more times. A couple of those times he snuck on without me knowing.

We had lots of fun and now I am really at a loss for what we will do for Alex's birthday this year.
