Alex Turns 4!

This year we had a big party for Alex and his friends at the Shedd Splash park just north of Wilmington. The boys and I made the best volcano cake for the occasion. Originally we had planned to get dry ice and have the cake smoke. However, we decided that it would be just too difficult. Still, it turned out amazing. Alex loved it and Jonathan spent the whole time trying to eat it.

Here is a picture of Alex and some of his friends. It was hard to get them to stand still so I just got a few with as many in as possible. I think they all had quite a lot of fun.
Jonathan also had a blast. The parks and rec department had a craft table out so all the kiddies got to make something. Jonathan, as you can see, chose the pipe cleaner glasses.
While everyone was eating the cake I snuck a few shots in.

We are missing one little girl in the group shot but here is everyone. Alex just loved his party and thanks everyone for coming. I have many more picks so if you were at the party and want some let me know.

Summer Fun!

To catch everyone up a little I am just dumping a lot of the summery activity pics in one blog. Enjoy!

We discovered a splash park nearby what will be our new apartment. The boys loved it.

You can't get much happier then this video!
I discovered the boys love to go hiking. What a way to get the energy out.

Right before we move out of Wilmington we discover this little lake and its little beach. Of course, the boys loved it.
We went to pick raspberries at a nearby farm. Here are picks from the playground. For some reason I didn't get any of the actual picking process. Which involved eating more the picking.

Happy Fourth Of July!

On Saturday we went to the Wilmington Carnival. They were having family day so we all got wrist bands and set out for a day of rides and stomachaches.

Alex was so excited to go on the ferris wheel. He had been talking about it for days. So it was the first ride we went on.
I have to admit it was a little scary with Jonathan up there but he loved it.

Jonathan just made the height marker for the catepiller rollar coaster.
Alex is an old pro at the coasters since he had gone on one several times in Scotland.
Cotton Candy was a bigger hit then all the rides. Well, except the giant slide. They could have done that one a million times.
The boys went alone on the dragon coaster. As you can see Jonathan was so happy. Only a few seconds into the ride his face had shear terror written all over it. Of course, when I went to get him he started saying "again, again".

We went back out for the fireworks. Jonathan fell asleep on the walk to the field but Alex was up and ready to go.

We really had a great fourth. I am so amazed about how much fun the boys have gotten now that they are older.

Elephants at the circus!

First one quick photo of Jonathan on his new scooter. He was always following the big kids in the neighborhood on their skateboards and he actually has a miniture skateboard so we figured he would love one of his own. And he does....he thinks it is the greatest toy ever.

We woke up to an email from some friends saying that the elephants at the circus would be raising the tent and everyone could go watch. So we loaded up the car before 8am and headed out. Somehow Adam woke up just enough to drop into the car.
The elephants were out and about and we got to spend a lot of time looking at them. Alex thought they were stinky.
We actually saw several of the kids from Alex's preschool. This pic is with Jack, one of Alex's best friends. They really had fun running around together.
Here is Lisa the Elephant pulling up the beams.

The boys thought this was great. The only issue was that it was supposed to happen at 8:30am and didn't get going until 10am. So we were running around for 1.5 hours in the rain. Yuck.
