Jonathan's First Hair Cut

Even though Jonathan is younger then Alex at his first real haircut we decided, or rather I decided, it was time to give it a go. Jonathan's just never got that thick curly look like Alex did. He has only had hair for about 9 months and it just looks really ratty. So here is our gorgeous boy before the haircut.

He is happy now.
Look Ma, a mohawk!
And the after pics...

Simply gorgeous. He did get a little squirmy which is why it is a little crooked. But he looks like a little boy now and I am very happy we did it.

Beginning of October

We have not actually done all that much in October. Mostly because everyone is busy with school, gymnastics, or playdates.

I put up a pullup bar for Adam and the boys proved they come from the monkey family.

We drove down to Connecticut to visit my friend Beth from high school. We stopped at a children's museum and had great fun. Here is Alex being a bee hiver.
They had a "Great Green Room". It was awesome. My favorite area by far.

September

Seeing as I am 2 months behind in posting pics I am just going to throw a whole bunch up for September.

This one is actually from California but got put into the wrong folder. We had an outing to our favorite park, Ortega.
Best buds.
We took another trip to the science museum. Here Alex is pretending to be an Astronaut.
He loves the ball maze thingy.
Jonathan loved being Bob the Builder.
And they both were bees for about half an hour.
Then cheetahs.
At the park Jonathan learned a good lesson about static electricity.

Someone may need a haircut.
Alex was learning about gravity at the time.

We went to pick apples. This one is just cute. Jonathan is looking up at the goats that live in the tree houses.
They had the best time running through the hay maze together. They stayed with each other the whole time. Alex even helped Jonathan through the hard parts.

Apple time.

Alex's education has gone to the next level. He is now working on Dynkin diagrams. He even made a book about them.
Jonathan's new favorite thing is his treasure box. This is something we started in California and he just loves it. Everything we find outside has to go into it.

We did one more trip to a farm. This time to visit an old preschool pal, Jack.

Trip to California Part Two

Here are a few more pics of our trip to California.
Godpapa Kevin
We had a great BBQ at my uncles.
Alex was in the pool a ton of the time.
Jonathan had a long nap, during which he was out of the bed half the time.
Playtime with cousins.

All tuckered out.
We were so happy that Cathie and her family came up to visit us. This was the only picture we got and as you can see it is lacking faces.
More cousin playtime.

We had a great afternoon with Omi Glo and Oompah Bill. Thanks for the presents, the boys love them.

First jump off a board ever.

Alex amazes us everyday.

We had a great time in sunny California. While we were happy to go back home and settle into our new apartment we will miss everyone in the west.

Visiting California Blog 1

Here we are one our way to California. We took a huge bus from the train station to the airport and the boys got their own seats. They were very excited and very well behaved.
This was the first trip on a plane where JOnathan had his own seat. It actually worked out really great. He slept most of the first flight and watched movies the second. Although, when he was awake we had a hard time keeping him in his seat. Mostly, he sat on my lap.

Morning with Grandma.
Afternoon with Grandma.
We went to Santa Cruz to visit some of Adam and my old coworkers. We had lunch at our favorite chinese place and then drove up to the university for a visit with our favorite koi pond.

Couldn't forget to visit the UCSC ribbon.
While chatting with some people from the school the boys got to play a little.
Jonathan has learned a lot of interesting phrases from his big brother and daddy. This one might be the best yet.
