Vermont and the happiest place on earth!

This week Jonathan tried on the Gingerbread Costume I made Alex. it fit him perfectly already. I can't believe how big he is. Alex was 28 months when he wore it...Jonathan is only 19 months.

Here is a shot from when Alex wore it in Scotland.

We drove up to Stowe Vermont this last weekend to invade my brother and his wifes skiing vacation. We got to take the boys sledding for the first time and had such a blast.

Adam had actually never gone sledding before so he had lots of fun too.

Thank you to Mike and Carol for letting us borrow their sled. I think we will have to get our own soon. Here is a quick video.

Here, Alex is helping Jonathan relax before bed.

I couldn't believe how great this picture turned out. This is my big bro Matt. The boys just loved playing with him, even though Alex did say "That man scares me" once.

Haha mom, I got a good shot of you for the first time in years.

This is the only pic I got of my new nephew Jack.

And as for the happiest place on earth. We took a tour of the Ben and Jerry's factory. Yum.

Grandpa with Jonathan.

Thank you Uncle Matt and Aunt Robin for letting us bunk on your floor. We really enjoyed it and hope to do it again.

Static, slides, and singers!

January has been a good month. Although we haven't seen anything on the ground but snow the whole time, we have managed to get out and have some fun. We had about 2 weeks where we were all pretty sick. Luckily, the boys survived with only a few nights of no sleep.

Alex continues to learn amazing things. Bill Nye The Science Guy has become his favorite show to watch. Here he shows his new talent with static electricity.

Jonathan has gotten even more cute. Of course, he is also becoming more destructive by the second. I went running one morning to find blue permanent marker all over the kitchen. Adam had fallen back asleep after I left and was woken by Alex saying " Daddy, Jonathan is being naughty" Then the next day when I left to run, Adam lost both boys out the door while he was in the bathroom. What did we learn....never let Adam take care of the boys.

Every evening after Adam gets home the boys help him change and one or both of them always runs out with the days tie on. Jonathan just thinks this is the most incredible thing.

I have an issue with dressing the kids alike. I just love it. Maybe it is due to my childhood desire to have twins. That desire has been squashed, however, treating my boys like twins is a good replacement.

We got to see Winnie the Pooh last week. The boys were a little scared at first but warmed up enough to stand near him. Couldn't smile, but at least I got a shot.

We went to a new place called Imajine That. It was a really cool indoor play area with a huge maze, slide, grocery store, painting area, jumping castle, etc. The boys just had a blast and it killed 3 hours on a day that was 10 degrees out.

This one if from this morning. Jonathan borrowed some pink shades from our friends and never takes them off.

Adam calls this look " Elton Jon".

We do have a big announcement to make. (No don't worry there will be no more Glessers running around anytime soon. ) Adam has accepted a tenure track position at Suffolk. So we will be staying in Boston for the time being. We are a little afraid of winter here but are trying to remedy that by taking a cruise in March. We will be leaving the boys with my parents. This will be our first time away from them for more then one night ever.

We are late ....but Merry Christmas!

As if anyone is surprised that I finally get around to a Christmas post and we have been in 2009 for nearly a week.

Alex was very festive for the holidays. My sewing machine broke right before I could finish our new stockings so I had to go out and get the $2 ones so the kids had something. Alex loved putting them on and pretending he was Santa.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Carol and Mike and the kids got to make gingerbread houses. It is a tradition in their family and since it was so much fun it might become one in ours.

Here is Ashley and Brooke making theirs.

Jonathan's contribution was to eat as much candy as he could at one time.

The Giles finished product.

The Glesser's finished product.

Here is Alex setting up the cookies and milk for Santa.

He actually wrote the note himself we just told him how to spell FOR SANTA.

And boy did Santa like those cookies. Thank you to everyone who sent all the gifts. We were amazed and felt very loved even though we were all alone.

Here are a couple of videos of the boys thanking people. I think we got through Kevin and Kayla and they gave up.

Adam was able to go with us to the zoo. It was very cold so we spent a lot of time in the indoor animal area. They loved the bug goggles.

We were at the zoo for all of an hour, but we still made it to the giant spider web.

Just last weekend we got Alex a new Batman costume. He wears his superman costume just about all day, every day. So we figured we should spread the love around.

Here is a picture of my beloved machine that my parents got me a decade ago. It was very good to me and made a lot of beautiful items.

But I drop kicked it and upgraded to the mega mega quilting machine. Now if you have been promised a quilt I may actually get to it this century. Probably not this decade though.

Grandma and Grandpa's, and Welcome Home to a Winter Wonder What?

Adam went to Copenhagen last Friday for a conference on Fusion systems. Therefore, I ran home to mommy and daddy with boys in tow. Our trip there was interesting. I had it planned so Adams flight left 2 hours after mine so he was able to help me with luggage and wait while I took my last bathroom break by myself. The first flight Alex was zoned out on the borrowed DVD player and Jonathan proceeded to scream his head off and knock me upside the head the whole 2 and a half hours. Luckily, I got off the plane with two live children...10 minutes before my next flight was about to take off. So I ran...and I mean ran. Pushing a umbrella stroller, carrying a 26 pound baby and a 40 pound bag...oh and 3 winter coats. I had to go from terminal A to D. Needless to say. I didn't make it. Although I am not worried about missing my workout for that day. They promptly ran me underneath the airport to a special bus which drove very fast to another plane that was two hours late to Asheville. I get up to the gate and they say..."what are you kidding me. This flight is full." So I proceeded to do my best to start crying. It worked and even though he could assign me two seats next to eachother, I told them that if they got me on, someone would move so Alex could sit next to us. The boys were asleep 2 minutes after takeoff and we made it with no other hiccups.

We had great fun at my parents. The boys loved making fires with Grandpa.

Grandma has the worlds best toys department in your house. So we had plenty to do.

We went on a quick journey to a lake near my parents house. It was about 40 degrees so we got all bundled up to see the ducks.

Alex pretended to go fishing. He was throwing his fake rode into the water when he fell in. I did tell you the trip was quick. Uncle Andy was right there and grabbed him very quickly. Then we all made a beeline for the car. Grandpa made it first and had it toasty before we even got there. Alex was stripped down and wrapped in other peoples coats very quickly. By the time we got home he was sweating.

Grandma and Alex bonded over he WOW game. He loved to help count down her "timeouts" as she called it when she died.

We took advantage of the hottub. Both kids love the water. One day Alex was in it for over an hour.

Here is Jonathan with Uncle Donny. He came home from school on Wednesday.

We got to help decorate the tree and I was actually able to get everyone in a pic. Let me know if you want a big version sent to you.

Jonathan and Mike.

Adam was a great help to the boys. They just love him. Jonathan very quickly bonded with him and wouldn't leave his side.

Jonathan ended up with a nasty ear infection. We were up all night with him one night. And I am not exaggerating. The next morning we took him to urgent care and after an hour of attempting to clean the wax build up out. The doc was finally able to say " yes, ear infection" and possible fluid in the lungs." So we filled him full of drugs and now he is better.

Jonathan helping with Grandpa's physical therapy.

Thanks for the great visit Grandma and Grandpa.

Here is the boys back at home. There was a slight nip in the air.

Well, maybe more then slight.

We spent 20 minutes getting all bundled up and spent less then that outside playing. I think it would have been longer except that it was snowing very hard still. In fact it still is. I think we got about 2 feet since this morning. It is very beautiful and I love looking at it. I haven't tried driving in it yet. Although, there is a good reason for that. Our car is not only buried(as you can see above). It is dead. I am going to try and get it in the shop tomorrow. Depending on the outcome, maybe Santa will be bringing me another big gift this week.

Speaking of gifts. I want to thank our wonderful friends Carol and Mike for getting us through our travels and our first snow storm. Mike drove for hours to get us to and from the airport 3 times. He also took Adam to the store. (Adam is a bad shopper for in the middle of a blizzard, he came home with enough food for a day) Carol feed him and us (yummies). We could not have made it without them. Thank you, we are very blessed to have you.
