Our own little slice of heaven!

We have been back for just over a week and I have finally gotten around to getting the pics out. Adam and I got to get away from it all for a whole week. I dropped off the boys at my parents and then met Adam in Florida. We took the MS Eurodam around the Eastern Caribbean. Where we went...who cares...we were away and actually sleeping through the night. Actually, it took me a few nights to stop waking up expecting someone to need a bottle, or to go pee. I was a little sick so we slept most of the first couple of days but I think it was very much needed.

Here is our boat.

We went for a hike through the rain forest in Puerto Rico. There was a set of waterfalls and it reminded us of our honeymoon. We ran off from our group so we could have a snack on a rock with no one bothering us.

We only went by the pool a few times, but somehow Adam caught me in a suit. Lucky for him it turned out ok. Adam was always in his white t-shirt...but looked very cute.

Here we are doing the timer on the camera thing. We had so much fun trying to get this to work. I have to hit the timer and run and jump to get to Adam in time.

In St. Thomas we enjoyed watching the Iguanas by the boat the most. We did go for like a 5 mile walk to town to shop. But just wanted to get back to see our many lizard friends.

Each night we got a new towel animal. The monkey was my favorit by far. Our porter left it an extra day since he heard me gushing over it.

Here we are on our last formal night. We took second in the Marriage game and became instant stars on board. Whenever, someone walked by us playing a game or sitting at the pool they would come up to us and ask us about the game. We did have a blast.

Well there you have it. Pics from the boys visit to my parents will be posted soon. (yeah right)

Flip City

Today we went to Flip City Gymnastics for an hour to check out how a class works. The boys had a total blast. Both of them were jumping and flipping all over the place. Now all I need is a couple of massive trampolines and bars and I will be able to keep the boys busy all day.

"Look at me!"

"TWO BOYS!"

Here is Alex showing he is ready for the Olympics.

The other day I got to sleep in and the boys camped out right outside my door. I love my Mama's boys.

Jonathan loves his baby.

Alex not only dresses up like Superman, but Clark Kent as well.

Couldn't help but post this one.

Vermont and the happiest place on earth!

This week Jonathan tried on the Gingerbread Costume I made Alex. it fit him perfectly already. I can't believe how big he is. Alex was 28 months when he wore it...Jonathan is only 19 months.

Here is a shot from when Alex wore it in Scotland.

We drove up to Stowe Vermont this last weekend to invade my brother and his wifes skiing vacation. We got to take the boys sledding for the first time and had such a blast.

Adam had actually never gone sledding before so he had lots of fun too.

Thank you to Mike and Carol for letting us borrow their sled. I think we will have to get our own soon. Here is a quick video.

Here, Alex is helping Jonathan relax before bed.

I couldn't believe how great this picture turned out. This is my big bro Matt. The boys just loved playing with him, even though Alex did say "That man scares me" once.

Haha mom, I got a good shot of you for the first time in years.

This is the only pic I got of my new nephew Jack.

And as for the happiest place on earth. We took a tour of the Ben and Jerry's factory. Yum.

Grandpa with Jonathan.

Thank you Uncle Matt and Aunt Robin for letting us bunk on your floor. We really enjoyed it and hope to do it again.

Static, slides, and singers!

January has been a good month. Although we haven't seen anything on the ground but snow the whole time, we have managed to get out and have some fun. We had about 2 weeks where we were all pretty sick. Luckily, the boys survived with only a few nights of no sleep.

Alex continues to learn amazing things. Bill Nye The Science Guy has become his favorite show to watch. Here he shows his new talent with static electricity.

Jonathan has gotten even more cute. Of course, he is also becoming more destructive by the second. I went running one morning to find blue permanent marker all over the kitchen. Adam had fallen back asleep after I left and was woken by Alex saying " Daddy, Jonathan is being naughty" Then the next day when I left to run, Adam lost both boys out the door while he was in the bathroom. What did we learn....never let Adam take care of the boys.

Every evening after Adam gets home the boys help him change and one or both of them always runs out with the days tie on. Jonathan just thinks this is the most incredible thing.

I have an issue with dressing the kids alike. I just love it. Maybe it is due to my childhood desire to have twins. That desire has been squashed, however, treating my boys like twins is a good replacement.

We got to see Winnie the Pooh last week. The boys were a little scared at first but warmed up enough to stand near him. Couldn't smile, but at least I got a shot.

We went to a new place called Imajine That. It was a really cool indoor play area with a huge maze, slide, grocery store, painting area, jumping castle, etc. The boys just had a blast and it killed 3 hours on a day that was 10 degrees out.

This one if from this morning. Jonathan borrowed some pink shades from our friends and never takes them off.

Adam calls this look " Elton Jon".

We do have a big announcement to make. (No don't worry there will be no more Glessers running around anytime soon. ) Adam has accepted a tenure track position at Suffolk. So we will be staying in Boston for the time being. We are a little afraid of winter here but are trying to remedy that by taking a cruise in March. We will be leaving the boys with my parents. This will be our first time away from them for more then one night ever.

We are late ....but Merry Christmas!

As if anyone is surprised that I finally get around to a Christmas post and we have been in 2009 for nearly a week.

Alex was very festive for the holidays. My sewing machine broke right before I could finish our new stockings so I had to go out and get the $2 ones so the kids had something. Alex loved putting them on and pretending he was Santa.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Carol and Mike and the kids got to make gingerbread houses. It is a tradition in their family and since it was so much fun it might become one in ours.

Here is Ashley and Brooke making theirs.

Jonathan's contribution was to eat as much candy as he could at one time.

The Giles finished product.

The Glesser's finished product.

Here is Alex setting up the cookies and milk for Santa.

He actually wrote the note himself we just told him how to spell FOR SANTA.

And boy did Santa like those cookies. Thank you to everyone who sent all the gifts. We were amazed and felt very loved even though we were all alone.

Here are a couple of videos of the boys thanking people. I think we got through Kevin and Kayla and they gave up.

Adam was able to go with us to the zoo. It was very cold so we spent a lot of time in the indoor animal area. They loved the bug goggles.

We were at the zoo for all of an hour, but we still made it to the giant spider web.

Just last weekend we got Alex a new Batman costume. He wears his superman costume just about all day, every day. So we figured we should spread the love around.

Here is a picture of my beloved machine that my parents got me a decade ago. It was very good to me and made a lot of beautiful items.

But I drop kicked it and upgraded to the mega mega quilting machine. Now if you have been promised a quilt I may actually get to it this century. Probably not this decade though.
