Boston Museum of Science

For Uncle Don's second day here we went to the Boston Museum of Science. This was the first time for the boys and I. We all had a great time. I think they liked the dinosaurs the most.

Alex crawled into the footprint.

Jonathan did some calculations on the computers they had out for the kiddies.

"Look dad! I am studying Topology."

Yum, DNA

I think the boys really love hanging out with their Uncle.

Uncle Donny Arrives and B-day Bash!

While Daddy left for Europe on June 1st, Uncle Don came for a visit on the 2nd. Yay! Luckily, we had a great birthday party to attend in the afternoon. Jonathan slept in the car for about an hour of it, the same hour that Alex was glued to my leg and wouldn't do anything. But things did eventually get moving.

Jonathan his first pony ride. Don helped keep him from freaking out.

Alex got his face painted. It lasted all of about 5 seconds.

Alex also got his first pony ride. The first ride he took and at the end said he hated it. Then somehow he ended up back on the pony at least 5 more times. A couple of those times he snuck on without me knowing.

We had lots of fun and now I am really at a loss for what we will do for Alex's birthday this year.

Alex's new bike and Jonathan's capture of the trik!

This weekend we got Alex a new bike. Spiderman of course. It was rather frustrating as bikes are make 12 inch or 16 in and Alex should really fit into a 14 inch; which are nearly impossible to find. So, we ended up with the bigger bike hoping that he will grow and inch or two this summer. He really did a wonderful job anyway.

Jonathan inherited the tricycle. He was very pleased by this and went around calling in "mine" all day. I think he was tired of having to wait his turn. He doesn't peddle yet, but he is surprisingly a little short for it.

Wingersheake Beach

Who knew that Massachusetts had beaches. We thought the place was just a dump for snow and mosquitos.

Today we had lots of fun at the beach. The last time the boys got to do this was in the North Sea. I think that this time they lasted longer and had much more fun.

Science Experiments: Volcano

Today we worked on our 2nd science experiment. Our first was the mentos and diet coke thing. Hopefully, I will get the video of that edited before we croak.

Alex and I made the volcano out of paper machete.

Once it dried Alex painted it. He had so much fun. Although he did end up with new PJ's by the end of the night.

Then we painted some grass and water. Jonathan doesn't get to paint very often seeing as he ends up throwing it everywhere. So he really got into this.

I will posted movies from the big eruption when I get the chance.
Here is a quick video of how proud Alex is of his volcano.

Bowling Party

We had a bowling party today to celebrate Alex's huge reading acheivement. He has finished his Learn to read in 100 days and guess what. HE CAN READ. It is absolutely amazing.

Look at that form.

This was Jonathans first trip to the bowling alley where he actually played. He had tons of fun, but is still learning what taking turns means.

We brought our great friends the Giles with us to celebrate. Here are Alex and Ashley.

Alex is very into bowling and was always right there waiting to get his turn. Of course, in the end, mommy won.

Stone Zoo with Dylan and Brandon

Today we went to the Stone Zoo with Alex's friend from school. It works out really well since Dylan has a little brother Jonathans age. So they both have someone to play with.

Jonathan was finally big enough to ride the train alone. Of course, Alex took care of his little brother the whole time. Although the picture doesn't show it, he did actually have a really great time.

Here are all the boys digging for dinosaur bones.
