Busy Boys in ther PJ's!

Hello everyone and Happy Fall! Alex is learning all about the seasons in school. He is really excited about it snowing. We are wondering what he is smoking!

We had a picnic at the zoo last week. Alex got to ride the train again. Which was wonderful. Luckily, Jonathan hasn't figured out he is missing out since he is too small to go.

Alex's favorite part of the zoo is the bat cave. Surprisingly he wants to be Superman, not Batman for Halloween. I wonder if I can get away with dressing Jonathan up like Lex Luther.

Costco has pulled through yet another year. The huge store sold me numerous sets of PJ's all matching and adorable. Gotta love Carter's.

Alex has learned how to use the camera. I think if we let him he would take a couple hundred a week. Oh wait! He did take a couple hundred this week. Maybe that is why it has taken me so long to update my blog.

Did I tell you that Alex is adorable?

Actually, both boys are pretty darn cute!

Alex got a Human Body puzzle. What many of you don't know is that Alex is a fanatic when it comes to photos of the Human Body. He loves learning all about the organs and bones. We have numerous posters and books on the topic. We even have a running story about how an egg is fertilized with sperm...all with hand motions and everything.

Adams high school tack and field coach was in Boston this past week. Somehow he made contact with her after over a decade and she happened to be visiting. It was a fun evening and I am sure we will get to see Ms Voss more often when we are back in California to visit.

Alex loves feeding his brother still. How sad will it be when I finally make Jonathan give up the bottle.

Alex was having so much fun in preschool that he has dropped out and gone straight to work. He figures he needs to start to pay his part of the bills. Keep the gas in the tricycle, you know that kind of stuff.

The playgroup I belong to had a make a train day. I wasn't going to do anything but Adam talked me into a graham cracker house, train and track.

Once again, my artwork displayed. The house pales in comparison to the beautiful child.

The kids in the playgroup stared while waiting for their turn to dig in. And dig in they did. Alex, Jonathan and about 3 others just sat next to it for 10 minutes munching away. Then we had to leave because Alex had a meltdown. Mmm, I wonder why.

Once again, Coscto PJ's. You may ask, How many sets did she get? And I would answer, hmmm what did you ask?

Hugs!

We have had a busy couple of weeks. It should only stay the same. The leaves are starting to change colors here. It really is quite amazing. California does not get this kind of fall. Of course, I think we would all rather be in California in January.

Alex Goes to School

Tuesday was Alex's first day at the New England Montessori School. He was very brave and excited for the first little bit. By the time we left the house he was very sadly saying "I don't want to go to school, I want to stay with Mommy". It was very hard and there were tears, kicking and screaming. But the teachers were great and said he was fine shortly after we left.

Here is daddy showing him around his new classroom. Those binoculars ended up being his favorite and actually caused issues when he was cleaning up. Basically he didn't want to leave without them. So we left him crying and picked him up crying. I felt horrible.

But within 5 minutes of starting our drive home he was giggling and laughing, telling me all about his day. Wednesday after play group he was begging to go to school again.

Today, he was ready to go and excited. When I dropped him off he said once that he didn't want me to leave but then he was gone. I did squeeze out a kiss.

Here is an early morning shot of the boys waking up daddy. He kind of fell asleep grading on the couch so when the boys were up at 5am, (which is becoming normal, ack) they were excited to help wake daddy up too.

Zoo, Aquarium and Halloween?

The last couple have weeks have been busy. Adam is burning the candle on both ends. He is setting up his many classes, while trying to apply for new jobs (yikes didn't he just do that), and do research. We are lucky that we get to pick him up from the train. It gives us a few more minutes with him.

Last Tuesday, we went to the Stone Zoo. The boys had a really great time. We walked through the whole thing twice. I was then blessed with both boys taking a 3 hour nap.

Here is Alex in front of the Black Bear exhibit.

Alex is pointing to our new home.

Alex got up close and personal with native dwellings.

Today we went to the Aquarium. Unfortunately, the picks from inside didn't turn out so well with all the dark rooms. But we got a few cute ones during our picnic.

Here is Jonathan and me on the train into Boston. I was lucky to go in with Adam so I only had to wrestle with the boys in one direction.

The boys get bored while I am cooking. Here they are in the tupperware cabinet. They both can fit in there and close the door. It keeps them very busy.

Jonathan is getting ready for Halloween. The boys found Alex's Yoda costume from 2 years ago. We can't decide what they will be yet, but we are leaning towards Yoda and Luke Skywalker.

We miss everyone. Another update should happen soon. Something big is happening in Alex's life tomorrow.

Settling In

We have been in Massachusetts for just over 3 weeks now. Our home is all unpacked and we can finally relax.

Alex and Jonathan are so sweet. Alex loves giving his little brother his bottle. Little Jonathan is so smart. When he sees that I am putting his bottle together he runs into his room and climbs up onto the rocking chair. He is always so proud of himself.

Just the other day Jonathan walked into the bathroom in the boys room and tried to climb on the toilet. So I stripped him to see what would happen. A couple of grunts later we were clapping for his poopoos. Of course, it hasn't happened again but it sure will be nice when he is trained.

Last weekend we took the boys bowling. They had a candlepin bowling center rather then regular bowling. Alex loved it, since the balls were so much smaller. Jonathan helped his daddy a little but for the most part we played in the arcade while Adam and Alex bowled.

We have been getting outside a lot. We want to enjoy the weather before we lock ourselves up for 4 months. The only issue is that I am extremely attractive to the mosquitoes. I basically look like I have the chicken pox all the time. Calamine lotion is going out of style at our place.

Here are some of Alex's new PJs. I got them for the winter but we wanted to wear them now. At night I have to go in his room and uncover him or we wakes up very sweaty and uncomfortable.

August 12th

Now I can start working on what is happening right now.

On August 1st we moved into our new apartment in Wilmington, Massachusetts. We are getting settled in and really like our new place. Alex and Jonathan are sharing a room. This makes for some very interesting bedtimes; when both boys are awake and all we hear is giggling. We have so much square footage it is hard to believe. Yet, somehow we have filled it up very well. Our office is two walls of books and two more walls of boxes that we are storing.

Jonathan:

Our 13 month old is running all over the place. He has some new words: bubble, all done.

Alex:

Alex just turned 3 on July 25th. We can't believe he is growing up so fast. He is really into golf, bowling, reading and his most favorite Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Kim is happy since we got some new furniture. Now we have a huge king sized bed. Our apartment may be big but this thing takes up over half the room.

There is a great pool at the complex. Although we usually end up in the spa since we are all kind of weary of cold water.

We haven't met many neighbors yet. We have seen some kids hanging around but the timing has always been bad to go meet them. Our neighbor below us did bring us cookies, which as you can see Jonathan loved. ( I think she was bribing us to keep the boys from jumping on her ceiling)

We miss all of our friends. Sadly, there are no plans to visit California until next summer perhaps. Adam starts to go into work on Monday next week. He needs to get ready for the two classes he is teaching. Kim and the kiddies are going to start going to two different playgroups. Hopefully, we can meet some other kids fast. Kim is also starting to work for her brother in law, Joe, as well as, quilt more and is looking into babysitting a friends 1 year old a few times a week. All of us are keeping very busy.

Here is a video of Jonathan being cute:

July updates

Ok here is a quick look at what July looked like for the Glesser fam.

Alex went to the golf club for the first time. He got to learn to putt on a real green.

Then he got a extra pail of balls at the range and spent about 2 hours driving away.

Tiger Woods? We got him beat.

Kim got to go to Boston for 3 days all by herself to find our new place. Her parents met her there and helped tremendously in the decision process. (and also helped check out the city on the very touristy Duck Tour)

Kim and her mom on the swan boats in the Boston Common.

Wheres Jonathan?

We had the boys party on July 12th. Adam even helped decorate the cakes.

The final products looked very cool and were very yummy!

Here is the birthday boy!

The turn out was great. We were so happy to see all of our closest family and friends.

We made it into a pool party for the little ones.

Jonathan tried to grab at his candles. Just like every other baby turning 1.

Jonathan was about to fall asleep by the time we got to cake but of course he still enjoyed.

Alex loved his trick candles. His favorite pastime is to blow candles and matches out over and over.

Yummy!

Here is one of the rare shots of our trip up to Oregon. We drove with Grandma Janice in two days to visit Great-Grandpa Koch and lots of extended cousins.

On our way home we stopped at a Round Table and got to be kings.

Then came moving time. All the boxes were very fun to play in.

On July 31st we moved to Boston. We will really miss everyone out in California. We also miss the weather.
